Use this printable checklist when comparing quotes for gold recovery carbon (CIP/CIL). It lists the parameters to verify, typical grade references, and the documents to request. Always compare the contractual limit with the exact-lot COA.

Representative production examples (not a universal standard):• Abrasion resistance — ASTM D3802: retention rate ≥ 98.2% after 30 mins agitation test (ball-pan hardness ≥ 98% as shipped).• Iodine value — ASTM D4607: 1000–1300 mg/g, batch tested.• Apparent density — ASTM D2854: 0.45–0.52 g/mL (same property as GB/T 12496.1 bulk density above).Values vary by factory, production process and lot. The agreed contract limits and the exact-lot COA govern each shipment.
Each contract records the iodine tolerance, agreed minimum hardness, moisture basis and limit, ash basis and limit, and fines range. The exact-lot COA reports the tested result.
Standard compliance: Produced and tested against the key requirements of YS/T 3038—2020 (Granular Activated Carbon for Gold Production).
K-value / R-value: K/R is not tested in our in-house QC laboratory. If required, the buyer may appoint an independent laboratory to test a representative sample under GB/T 32992-2016. K/R results are not part of the standard batch COA. If these indices are compared, require a method, sample identity and laboratory report agreed by both parties.

3. Buying Checklist for CIP/CIL Buyers
- ☐ Confirm your process: CIP or CIL, target iodine, hardness, mesh
- ☐ Order a 3-grade sample pack (iodine 1000/1100/1200) with COA — test on your own liquor
- ☐ Verify COA test methods (GB/T or ASTM) — compare apples to apples
- ☐ Check fines / platelet content — high fines = carbon loss in circuit
- ☐ Lock spec tolerances and replacement terms in the contract
- ☐ Confirm packing for your inland route (moisture-proof jumbo bags, pallets)
- ☐ Arrange third-party inspection (SGS etc.) for container orders if needed
