Honeycomb & Block Activated Carbon
Monolith honeycomb and bonded carbon blocks offering very high geometric surface area and ultra-low pressure drop for continuous air purification and HVAC filtration.
Honeycomb & Block Carbon
Parallel-channel honeycomb monoliths and bonded carbon blocks are engineered for high air flow with minimal resistance. They are the preferred media for continuous VOC removal, H₂S control, formaldehyde abatement and HVAC filtration.
Definition: honeycomb activated carbon is a monolithic block with hundreds of parallel square channels per square inch (100–400 cpsi). It combines a very high geometric surface area with ultra-low pressure drop, which makes it the standard for continuous air purification, VOC abatement and odour control — applications where a granular bed would be too restrictive. YELI Carbon produces honeycomb and bonded block formats in custom sizes, with a COA on every batch.
High Flow, Low Pressure Drop
Unlike packed granular beds, honeycomb monoliths route air through straight channels, delivering high adsorption capacity per unit volume at a fraction of the pressure drop. Bonded block formats bring the same performance into panels, cartridges and canisters.
Specialty impregnations extend performance to reactive gases: H₂S for biogas and sewage treatment, NH₃for refrigeration and agriculture, acid gases and mercury for industrial exhaust.

Frequently Asked Questions
Honeycomb monoliths use parallel channels (100–400 cpsi) for ultra-low pressure drop and high flow — ideal for continuous air duty. Granular carbon (GAC) beds offer higher adsorption capacity per volume but higher pressure drop and are better for liquid or batch applications.
Honeycomb and block carbon remove VOCs, formaldehyde, H₂S, NH₃ and Hg from air streams, depending on the impregnation grade chosen.
Yes — we produce custom honeycomb and block sizes for HVAC, air purifier and industrial filter housings. Send your dimensions and target airflow, and we will quote within 24 hours.
Honeycomb vs Pellet vs GAC for Air
For high airflow, low restriction duty choose honeycomb (100–400 cpsi). For deeper beds and solvent recovery choose extruded pellets (Ø1–4 mm). For liquid phase or low-cost bulk choose granular carbon. YELI Carbon supplies all three.
